John Leary, Rochester,
New York, U.S.A. 1993 – Present
Status: Established as Not Supernatural (Constat
de Non Supernaturalitate)
Episcopal Remarks:
“The Commission is convinced that you are sincere in your affirmation that these
are supernatural (locutions), that you are psychologically healthy and that you
have not perpetrated a fraud on the community…Nevertheless, they are
persuaded that you have mistaken the normal workings of the mind in the
processes of mental prayer for supernatural locutions." (Bishop Mathew
H. Clark, Diocese of Rochester, Regarding The Messages of John Leary, June 25,
2000); “the ‘locutions’ are human in
origin, not divine” (ibid); “ A preface must be included in all newly
printed or reprinted material, such warning the readers that the material
contains a number of doctrinal errors.” (ibid)
Corroboration by Other Seers: Supported by Josyp Terelya; The onset of his
revelations were associated with his
visit to Medjugorje
Biographical Information: John
Leary –a retired Kodak chemist -lives near Rochester, New York. He is a father and grandfather in his
50's. He has both a spiritual director
and a pastor who confirm that he is emotionally balanced and a Roman Catholic
in good standing. John has attended
daily Mass and received Holy Communion every day since he was 17 years old,
excepting sickness. He has been
receiving messages from Jesus and Mary since his 1993 trip to Medjugorje.
Described as a Visionary, prolific author, and popular public speaker, he is
noteworthy for introducing Protestant chiliastic and apocalyptic themes into
the mainstream of popular Catholic apocalypticism. 1 Leary has
claimed that his locutions warn of the coming of the anti-Christ, a political
leader who will forge an alliance with the next pope. According to Leary’s
diaries, this pope — whom Leary calls a false pope — will replace Pope John
Paul II after the current pontiff is exiled. Leary writes that the false pope
will undermine church teachings and support persecution of religious and
political opponents of the anti-Christ’s regime. 2 Apart from them
being detailed in public talks his messages fill 13 volumes on the last count
since he started receiving them in 1993. This website hosts 7 of the latest
volumes (see below)
