Jeanne-Louise Ramonet, Kerinzen, France, 1938 -1995
Status: Currently being
investigated
Episcopal Remarks: Despite the Vicariate of Rome giving its approval
(although it is not certain whether this was an imprimatur or nihil obstat) to
the prayer of dedication to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary received by the seer,
Msgr Fauvel the Bishop of the diocese for Kerinzen and his successor Msgr Barbu
have placed a total of 4 interdictions (refusal of the sacraments) on the seer
between 1949 and 1975.

Biographical Information: Jeanne-Louise Ramonet was born on October 7, 1910 in
the hamlet of Kerinzen in France. She
was the fourth out of nine children of a modest family of farmers who from her
youth suffered with polio of the right leg. This prevented her from attending
school until she was 10 years old. By the time she was 12 years she heard a
locution of Our Lord at Holy Communion asking her “Will you be my apostle? love
your brothers.” At 14 years she desired to become a religious but her health
held her back again and she was forced to work out her vocation in silence and
interiorly through her labours on the family farm. After being partially cured
of her ailment from a diocesan trip to Lourdes in 1936 where she petitioned the
Blessed Virgin for health and strength, she was able to return and work the
family farm well beyond her parents death and until her own retirement in 1970. During the intervening years of 1938 –1965
she reportedly experienced apparitions of Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary
in a field close to the farm house. The first of these apparitions occurred on
September 15, 1938 in Kerinzen and the second a year later on October 7, 1939. The Messages consist of
teachings about the compassion of Mary and the special relationship between the
Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. During the first 17 years Our Lady appeared alone
except for three occasions of her Asssumption where she was accompanied by Holy
Angels. Our Lord appeared at her side for the ensuing 10 years and she was even accompanied by St. Joseph
on one occasion. In fact when Jesus and
Mary are reported to appear their hearts are seen as intertwined by the yoke of
love. The Blessed Virgin warns of the serious dangers that threaten the Church,
France and the world but also of the forthcoming Catholic renaissance if
mankind converts. She stresses the importance of receiving the sacraments of penance and Holy Communion, the practice
of loving one’s neighbour and the Holy rosary whereas Our Lord teaches of the
mysteries of the Eucharist. In 1949 a spring promised by Our Lady issued forth
in a field adjacent to the property and many healings and graces of conversion
have been reported from consumption of its water. In the same year a statue of
the Blessed Virgin was erected on the site of the apparitions and this was
followed by reports of Fatima-like miraculous dances of the sun between 1953
and 1954. Later between 1955-1956 she entered into the sufferings of the Sacred
and Immaculate Hearts and began receiving mystical communions with Our Lord. By
1956 a small oratory was constructed to shelter the pilgrims and in 1972 the
Association of “The Friends of Kerizinen” was founded. The spring has not ceased to flow and in
1976 a larger oratory was constructed around the original site and since 1992 a
reception has been added in honour of St. Joseph. Since her retirement the site has become a popular site for
pilgrims where Jeanne-Louise lead the faithful in the daily rosary. After a total of 71 apparitions over 27
years the seer died in February 19, 1995 at the age of 84 years.
